This incident is now resolved. MANTRA Chain mainnet has been operating normally since block production resumed at 05:30 UTC on 22 August, and the vulnerability is remediated in v8.4.0. There was no rollback and no state changes between the halt and resumption. User balances were not altered and no action is required from token holders. Public RPC and EVM endpoints are online, inter-chain connectivity has been verified as healthy, third-party partners have verified the fix, and exchange infrastructure is stable. Our DuKong public testnet is also coming back online. We will continue to monitor the network closely. This page remains the source of truth for network status.

Mainnet halted — patched release staged for coordinated restart — Dry-Run Testing Successful, Security Hardening and Final Review in Progress

MANTRA Chain Mainnet (mantra-1) remains halted at block 17,449,398. A full state snapshot was taken before the halt. No third-party user, exchange, or partner funds were directly impacted.

Where things stand:

• Root cause identified. We have completed a root cause analysis of the exploit and reviewed the known attack vectors associated with it. Each has been mitigated in the patched release.

• Remediation built and tested. v8.4.0 is in pre-release state and has been validated against an internal chain environment that replicates Mainnet state, with repeated end-to-end upgrade rehearsals.

• Stability before speed. The network stays halted while we coordinate the broader active validator set for a single, coordinated upgrade. We would rather spend the coordination time than resume on a partial set.

About v8.4.0. It patches the vulnerability in the EVM module used in the exploit and carries supplemental security hardening. Store upgrades are empty — no module changes and no state migrations, so the upgrade itself completes in seconds.

Sequence. MANTRA-operated validators upgrade first. Mainnet validator partners follow, and standard node operators, RPC, and archive nodes immediately after. Validator instructions are being coordinated directly with operators; binaries should be taken only from the official release tag and verified against the published checksums.

MANTRA Chain mainnet remains halted. We are validating the patched release on our DuKong testnet and coordinating with validator partners ahead of a restart.

Based on our analysis so far, the incident affected two MANTRA-managed wallets, and we have no indication that user, exchange, or partner funds were affected. We will not put a time on the restart until testing is complete, and will post the next update at that point.

MANTRA Chain Mainnet remains halted following the security incident reported earlier today. Transactions, transfers and staking operations are unavailable while the network is paused. User funds are unaffected by the halt itself, and a full network state snapshot was taken before the restart process began.

A patched release, v8.4.0, addresses the underlying vulnerability. The release is currently undergoing testing and due diligence on DuKong (Testnet). We are prioritising a careful, verified rollout over speed.

Next step: a coordinated Mainnet upgrade and restart, currently targeting later today, 21 August. This timing is subject to testing completing cleanly.

Validators: please keep Mainnet nodes offline until the coordinated restart is announced.

Investigation update — MANTRA Chain remains Halted - Remedation and Testing in Progress

MANTRA Chain Mainnet remains halted. Earlier today we detected an attacker exploiting a vulnerability in an upstream dependency used by the chain, and halted the network as a precaution. The halt prevents transactions from being processed, so no assets can move on the network while it is in place.

We have identified the vulnerability and are proceeding to prepare a patched release. Our own validators and infrastructure are offline pending that upgrade, and resuming the network will require a coordinated restart with the wider validator set — we will not resume until the patch is verified and that coordination is in place.

Alongside this, we are tracing the movement of funds and are in contact with exchange partners. Deposits and withdrawals for MANTRA remain paused on affected venues until the chain resumes.

Our assessment of the full impact is ongoing and we are not yet in a position to confirm the complete scope. No action is required from users. Please rely only on official MANTRA channels, and be cautious of anyone offering "recovery" or "support" assistance.
